Information Systems Analyst June 1993 to August 1996
Provided computer programming, computer hardware, and software support for the Rockville MD facility of approximately 150 people. Provided WASC-wide support with Intelligent Query (IQ) programming for corporate reporting, billing, auditing and other accounting functions. Assisted in the set up of other EG&G divisions in Job Cost Accounting Management Information System (JAMIS). Acted as principal WASC liaison with Maxwell Business Systems (JAMIS and IQ vendor) to assure that latest versions of JAMIS and IQ are in-house and that WASC modifications are incorporated into the JAMIS product. Assumes leadership roles in all employee-training issues for JAMIS and IQ as well as JAMIS and IQ version migration and integration. Responsible for security on WASC's JAMIS and IQ software systems. Provided short-range corporate information technology recommendations as a chairman of the WASC Information Network Tactical Team (WINTAC). Managed Local Area Network of two Netware 4.1 servers, two Netware 3.12 servers and two VAX 4000 mini-computers running multiple mission critical applications. Local Area Network Analyst April 1992 to June 1993
Responsible for all facets of Information Systems Management for a group of 250 people in WASC's Arlington, VA and Manassas, VA facilities. Developed, marketed and implemented a plan to integrate 90 new personal computers with 45 older models using EG&G's existing VAX network. Provided long-range corporate information technology recommendations as a member of the WASC Information Network Strategy Team (WINSTRAT). Personally coordinated the introduction of Video Teleconferencing (VTC) in our Arlington, VA office. Responsible for marketing and management of VTC room and equipment. Made specific recommendations in 1992 to downsize an older EG&G computer network that resulted in a reduction of the network's overhead pool from $400K per year to $70K per year. Determined roles and responsibilities of other information systems employees within WASC. Provided structured analysis and design consultation to process improvement-oriented teams. Drafted Configuration Management plan for EG&G's VAX network. Prepared capital expenditure budgets in support of facilities' information system goals. Briefed facilities' managers on information system projects' status and plans.
System Analyst January 1988 to April 1992
Provided Program Management and Integrated Logistical Services to PMS425 and SEA 06U22 customers for the following submarine combat and sonar systems: CCS MK 2, CCS MK 1, FCS MK 117, DWS/CS MK 118, AN/BQQ-5B/C/D/E and AN/BQQ-6. Responsible for the design, development, implementation and overall management of a material requirements planning database system established for the procurement, refurbishment, upgrade, storage and disbursement submarine Government Furnished Equipment/Government Furnished Material (GFE/GFM), which exceeded $300 million in value. Considered by PMS425 customer and WASC to be an expert in the area of GFE/GFM management. Maintained liaison with various naval activities to ensure that equipment delivery and release schedules are met. Alerted Navy customers of equipment shortage projections and developed work around recommendations. Provided assistance to Navy customers for the preparation of Program Objective Memorandums (POM), field activity and contractor tasking, and shipping documents for GFE/GFM. Performed long-range market analysis in support of all aspects of submarine programs.
